Do you know why a woman stands at the entrance of our country. Some might try to twist her symbolism into a female stereotype where women have been demeaned to a good and welcoming hostess. Others will say her femininity is what makes her powerful. I think both of those ideas are bull. She stands there because she's got a job to do. A job she was born to do. Not because she's female, and not because she isn't male. Her gender has nothing to do with her purpose. It neither hinders nor propels it. Her gender simply is a part of her. Like her torch or her crown. They make up who she is but they aren't the only thing to remember about her. What I think she hopes she is remembered for is not her gender but how well she did her job.
